Emotional Exhaustion · Online, in English
It's rarely one thing. It's several tensions landing together in a single cloud — the lease you translated at 11pm, the call from home about a bill back there, the meeting tomorrow you haven't prepped for. Separate them, and each one turns into something you can actually carry.
When you're loaded, not just tired
Your body isn't tired from one thing — it's tired from all of it landing together: the school email you read twice because the words felt slower in English, the family group chat that never really turns off, the appointment you booked in the language that isn't the one you cried in as a kid. Nothing on its own would flatten you. All of it stacked up, with no order, is what does. This isn't only about work wearing you down — it's the day-to-day weight of holding everything at once, at your job and at home, in two languages.
Therapy doesn't ask you to relax or push through. It helps you separate that fog into named pieces, so you can see what's actually there, choose one, and put it down first.
Three signals
You feel tension but can't point to where it's coming from — a background noise you can't turn off.
Work in English, family in Spanish, money, the house — it all piles into one shapeless heaviness.
When everything weighs the same, you can't tell what to solve first. So nothing gets solved.
Who's with you
I'm a clinical psychologist with more than 15 years working with people who carry more fronts than they can name, trained in systemic family therapy. I'm Colombian, based in Barranquilla, and I see clients online. But before any title, I'm someone who understands what it's like to hold two languages and two worlds at once — the work that runs in English and the family that runs in Spanish, and the tiredness that comes from switching between them all day without a break. Many of the people I work with in English think in Spanish first — they migrated, or grew up shuttling between countries, or became the one who translates everything for everyone else. You don't have to explain that part to me first.
A diffuse load is easier to sort out with someone next to you. If this feels like the moment, let's take the first step together — at your pace, no pressure.

Systemic-Relational Approach
Family and relational lens
Ricardo is licensed as a psychologist in Colombia (Professional License 106127) and works with international clients in private practice. He does not prescribe medication. Rules on cross-border online therapy vary by country and by state, so it's worth checking what applies where you live — and this never replaces local emergency care.

I work from a systemic-relational approach: instead of telling you to rest more, we separate the cloud of exhaustion into the concrete pieces that make it up, so you can see what's actually pulling at you, and in what order to put it down.
We don't stop at "you need rest." We look at what's actually piling up — work demands, family obligations that don't pause at a border, money, the weight of translating yourself all day — so relief lands on the real load, not just the surface.
In many first sessions I start with the same image instead of asking how you are: if we took an emotional X-ray of your life right now, where would the highest peaks of tension be? It gives the fog something concrete to point at.
The goal isn't only to feel less drained. It's for you to get back what the exhaustion has been quietly taking — patience, presence, the parts of your day that used to feel like yours.
How we start
Message me on WhatsApp or leave your details in the form. We'll set up a first 60-minute video-call session, at a reduced rate (50% off).
In that first session I listen to your story and how the exhaustion shows up in your day to day — what's mixed into that cloud. No rushed diagnoses, no jargon — just understanding, together, what you need.
You decide with real information, not blindly. If it feels right for you, we agree on a process built around you. If not, I'll still point you toward what you need.
If we took an emotional X-ray of your life right now, where would the highest peaks of tension be?
