Emotional Regulation Therapy · Online, in English
Professional psychological support for emotional regulation, in English — from someone who thinks the way you do. A space to stop arguing with what you feel, understand what it's actually asking for, and respond to it without translating yourself first.
Does this sound like you?
The logic is airtight. You've made the case to yourself more times than you can count. And somehow the follow-through doesn't come.
Obligation gets you through Monday and Tuesday. By the end of the week, telling yourself you have to isn't enough to carry it anymore.
Forbidding them doesn't work, because they're doing a real emotional job for you — and nothing has replaced it yet.
When "I have to" stops working
You can build the perfect argument in English — the health case, the money case, the timeline that proves you should already be doing this — and still walk right past it, because the part of you that finally listens isn't following an argument. It doesn't process obligation, in English or in Spanish. It's asking a different question: what for.
Therapy doesn't hand you more willpower or a stricter schedule. It helps translate what you keep trying to force yourself into something your emotions actually recognize — a purpose with your name on it, a ritual, a reason that means something to you — so the change holds without you having to fight yourself for it every single day.
Who's with you
I'm a clinical psychologist with more than 15 years working with people who struggle to sustain the changes they already know they need, trained in systemic family therapy. I'm Colombian, based in Barranquilla, and I see clients online. I've sat with plenty of clients who could recite, in perfect English, every reason they should exercise, sleep on time, or step back from a habit — and still couldn't make it stick, because reciting the reason was never going to be enough. Many of the people I work with in English think in Spanish first, and the obligation they repeat to themselves rarely arrives in just one of those languages. It doesn't need translating — it needs a different language altogether.
Learning to speak to what you feel, instead of arguing with it, is easier with someone next to you. If this feels like the moment, let's take the first step together — at your pace, no pressure.

Systemic-Relational Approach
Online sessions in English
Ricardo is licensed as a psychologist in Colombia (Professional License 106127) and works with international clients in private practice. He does not prescribe medication. Rules on cross-border online therapy vary by country and by state, so it's worth checking what applies where you live — and this never replaces local emergency care.

I work from a systemic-relational approach: I don't treat what you feel as noise to override with more discipline. I look at what it's shaped by, and what it's actually asking for, so the change holds instead of collapsing the moment your willpower runs low.
We don't stop at replacing one habit with a stricter rule. We look at what emotional job the current habit is doing for you, so the new behavior can actually take its place instead of fighting it every day.
Obligation is a rational argument, and it isn't the language emotion listens to. We rebuild the thing you're avoiding as something with a personal "what for" — a ritual, a meaning, a gesture — instead of one more item on a list of shoulds.
The goal isn't a perfect routine on paper. It's that what matters to you stops depending on how much willpower you happen to have left on a given day.
How we start
Message me on WhatsApp or leave your details in the form. We'll set up a first 60-minute video-call session, at a reduced rate (50% off).
In that first session I listen to your story, what you've been feeling, and how this shows up in your day to day. No rushed diagnoses, no jargon — just understanding, together, what you need.
You decide with real information, not blindly. If it feels right for you, we agree on a process built around you. If not, I'll still point you toward what you need.
The goal isn't to force yourself into new habits. It's to give what you feel a reason it actually recognizes — so you stop needing willpower to keep it.
