When it feels like one giant thing

It's not laziness or fear. You're looking at the size of it wrong.

Your problem shows up as one enormous, tangled thing — too big to know where to even put your hands on it. So you don't. You know you should deal with it, or get support, but the size of the whole thing freezes you, and it's easier to look away for one more week. For a lot of people who move between Spanish and English every day, that pile grows in both languages at once: paperwork you haven't opened because it's in English, a conversation with your kids you keep pushing off because you don't have the words for it yet, a decision at work due Friday — all sitting in the same stack, all feeling like they have to be solved today.

Therapy doesn't ask you to solve all of it at once. It helps you take that one giant thing apart into pieces small enough to actually see — and then helps you choose which single piece you're ready to work on this week, so moving forward stops depending on fixing everything first.

Who's with you

I'm Ricardo, and you don't have to carry the whole thing alone

I'm a clinical psychologist with more than 15 years working with people who feel buried under something too big to name, trained in systemic family therapy. I'm Colombian, based in Barranquilla, and I see clients online. Many of the people I work with in English think in Spanish first — they migrated, or grew up shuttling between countries, or ended up holding responsibilities in a language nobody taught them for that job. When your problem is partly a stack of English-language paperwork and partly a family conversation you haven't found the words for yet, you don't have to explain that split to me first.

A problem this size is easier to break apart with someone next to you. If this feels like the moment, let's take the first piece together — at your pace, no pressure.

Does this sound familiar?

3 signs this is what's happening to you

👻

It feels too big to even touch

Your problem looks like one enormous, tangled thing, and you genuinely don't know where you'd even start.

😴

You freeze because of the size, not the problem

You know you should deal with it, or get support, but the sheer size of the thing stalls you, and avoiding it feels easier.

🌍

You can't afford to fall apart

As someone who moved countries, looking straight at the whole problem feels like it could knock you down — and you're not sure there's a net to catch you.

My approach

This is how I work with a problem that feels too big

I work from a systemic-relational approach: instead of asking you to solve everything at once, we take the whole thing apart into pieces you can actually see, work with, and finish — one at a time.

🧠

One piece at a time, not the whole thing

We take the giant, tangled version of your problem and break it into 3-5 concrete pieces — each one the size of something a real person can actually take on.

🌿

You choose what you can actually do

Together we pick ONE piece that meets three conditions: you know how to do it, you want to do it, and you can carry it through. Only that one gets worked on this week.

🌱

The rest waits, on purpose

The other pieces aren't ignored — they're postponed on purpose, so you're not carrying all of it at once while you work through what you chose.

How we start

A clear first step, no pressure

1

You book your assessment session

Message me on WhatsApp or leave your details in the form. We'll set up a first 60-minute video-call session, at a reduced rate (50% off).

2

We put the whole problem on the table

In that first session I listen to the whole thing, as big and tangled as it feels. No rushed diagnoses, no jargon — just understanding, together, what's actually in that pile.

3

We choose the first piece together

You decide with real information, not blindly. If it feels right for you, we agree on which piece to start with. If not, I'll still point you toward what you need.

Break it down until one piece becomes a fight you already know how to fight, want to fight, and can fight on your own.
