Teen Therapy · Online, in English
Professional psychological support for teenagers, in English — from a psychologist who also thinks in Spanish. A space where your child can be heard in the language they actually live in, and where you get real tools to reconnect as a family, without translating your story first.
When you don't know what to do anymore
The hours locked in their room, the irritability that flares over nothing, grades slipping, friends who changed, the phone as a wall between you. You wonder if it's «just their age» or something more, and whether to push harder or give them space. For families living between two languages, it can get more tangled still — you speak to them in Spanish and they answer in English, or the world they navigate all day, school, friends, group chats, runs entirely in a language and a set of codes you didn't grow up with.
You're not failing as a parent for not having the answers. Adolescence reorganizes everything: identity, relationships, their place in the family — and for teens growing up bicultural, that reorganizing often includes figuring out which language, which country, which set of rules feels like home. Therapy gives your teenager a space of their own to understand themselves, and gives you a guide to stay close without every conversation turning into a fight.
Who's with you
I'm a clinical psychologist with more than 15 years working with teenagers and their families, trained in systemic family therapy. I'm Colombian, based in Barranquilla, and I see clients online in English. I know how to build a space where a teenager lowers their guard and starts talking — including teens who think in Spanish at home and live in English everywhere else, who've grown up translating for their parents, or who feel like the most «American» person in a Spanish-speaking household. Parents finally get concrete ways back in, in the same language their child uses to think.
Your son or daughter isn't «the problem» to fix — they're someone building who they are, sometimes in two languages and two worlds at once. If this feels like the moment, let's take the first step together, at their pace and with no pressure.

My approach
I work from a systemic-relational approach: what a teenager is struggling with is almost never only theirs — it also speaks to what's happening in their relationships and in the family, including the cultural and linguistic bridge some families carry.
Your teenager needs a place that feels like theirs. I protect that trust: what's said in session stays in session, and parents get guidance without me handing over what your child confides.
Change holds when home changes with it. That's why I include parents in the process — not to monitor, but to learn new ways of staying connected.
Screens, limits, silence, and sometimes two languages pulling in different directions. I help turn the power struggle into a relationship where setting limits and staying close stop being opposites.
What if you're the one who found this page?
Maybe you found this page yourself. I want you to know something: what you feel is valid, you're not overreacting, and asking for help isn't weak — it takes courage. You're not here to get «fixed,» and I'm not going to report everything back to your parents. This is your space, confidential, where we figure out what you're going through together, at your pace, in English if that's the language you think in.
If you want, you can show this page to your parents. We take the first step however feels right to you.
How we start
As the parent or guardian, message me on WhatsApp or leave your details in the form. We'll set up a first 60-minute video-call session, at a reduced rate (50% off).
In that first session we understand what's going on and decide together who's part of it — your teenager, you as parents, or both. No rushed diagnoses: first, understanding.
We agree on a process built around your teenager and your family. You decide with real information, not blindly; if this isn't what you need, I'll still point you toward the right path.
Therapy with a minor always begins with a parent or guardian's consent.
They don't need to be fixed. They need someone who can listen without flinching at what they feel, and parents who learn to do that too.

Book My Assessment SessionA common worry
That's completely normal. Plenty of teens show up reluctant, convinced no one's going to get them. They don't need to arrive convinced — one low-pressure first try is usually enough.
Knowing the space is theirs, and confidential, tends to change everything. If you're not sure how to bring it up, message me and we'll figure out that first step together.
