Therapy for Latinos in Europe · Online, in English

You're building a life in English. Some things still only make sense in Spanish

Your day in Europe runs in English — work, paperwork, the school run. But grief, guilt, and missing home still show up in Spanish. A space to work through that, with someone who lives in both languages too, without translating yourself first.

When home is a time zone away

Rebuilding a life in Europe wasn't only a stack of paperwork. It was starting over, on someone else's clock.

Validating your degree, sorting out a residency permit, learning to navigate systems in a language you're still catching up to — all of that lands before you even get to the real grief, the one about leaving your people behind. Add the guilt of having left, raising your kids between two cultures, and a distance from your parents that grows heavier every year, and harder to close with a visit.

The Latino community around you might be small, or scattered, and being «the Latino» here can mean something different than it does back home, or in the US — sometimes a stereotype, sometimes just something people don't quite know what to do with. And every day runs on two clocks: yours, and the one your family is living six or seven hours behind. Finding a therapist who gets all of that, in the language you actually think and work in day to day, isn't easy. Here, you don't have to build that context from zero.

Ricardo De Castro King — Colombian Clinical Psychologist

Who's with you

I'm Ricardo, Colombian, and I understand your context, not just your two languages

I'm a clinical psychologist with more than 15 years of experience, trained in systemic family therapy. I live in Colombia and work online in English with Latinos across Europe, without you having to wait weeks to find a therapist who won't need your culture explained from scratch.

You don't have to explain why some things — a word, a smell, a Sunday lunch — only make sense in Spanish. I get it. It's part of my own culture too. We work through your process together in English, with the same warmth and clinical seriousness I give every patient, wherever in Europe you're logging in from.

Built for your reality

Therapy designed for Latinos living in Europe

This isn't generic therapy delivered in English. It's a process built from the start for someone rebuilding a life on another continent, in a second language, on a different clock.

💬

Your language and your culture, not just a translation

We work in English, but I don't need the backstory explained to me first. I grew up speaking both, so the parts that don't translate cleanly don't get lost along the way.

🕑

Sessions built around the clock that splits your day

I work afternoon and evening blocks in Colombia, which land in the morning and midday in European time (CET/CEST) — so you can book before or after your day, and still make the call home.

📄

A receipt for your insurance or workplace benefit

If you have private insurance or a wellness benefit through your employer, I give you a detailed receipt for every session that you can submit yourself for reimbursement.

How we start

Your first session, no friction

1

You book your assessment session

Message me on WhatsApp or leave your details in the form, along with your country and time zone in Europe. We'll set up a first 60-minute video-call session, at a reduced rate (50% off).

2

We get to know your situation

I listen to your story — including the parts about leaving and rebuilding, if that's part of it — without you having to explain the cultural backdrop first. We sort out payment from Europe, and if you need one, I'll walk you through how to request your receipt.

3

We shape the process together

You decide with real information, not blindly: session by session, or the 5-session package if you'd rather have continuity. If it's not the right moment, I'll still point you toward what you need.

Building a life on another continent doesn't mean doing it in translation — or explaining where you're from before someone can understand you.

Frequently asked questions

What Latinos in Europe ask before booking

Do sessions happen in English, or can I switch to Spanish when I need to?

Sessions run in English. It's normal to slip into Spanish for a word or a memory that doesn't translate cleanly — that's welcome here, you don't need to stop and translate it for me.

Do I need private health insurance to start therapy with you?

No. This works as a private consultation, paid directly per session. If you have private health insurance or a wellness benefit through your employer that covers psychological therapy, I give you a detailed receipt for each session so you can submit it yourself to your insurer or company.

Is it legal to see a psychologist based in Colombia if I live in Spain or elsewhere in Europe?

Ricardo is licensed as a psychologist in Colombia (Professional License 106127) and works with international clients in private practice. He does not prescribe medication. Rules on cross-border online therapy vary by country and by state, so it's worth checking what applies where you live — and this never replaces local emergency care. If your process needs a psychiatric evaluation or in-person care, he will tell you and help you look for it where you are. If your process ever needs a psychiatric evaluation or something that requires a local license, I'll help you connect with a licensed professional in your country.

What times can I book if I live in Europe?

Colombia runs 6 to 7 hours behind most of continental Europe, depending on the season. We work afternoon and evening blocks in Colombia, which land in the morning and midday in European time (CET/CEST), so you can book before or after your workday.

How do I pay for the session from Europe?

We accept international card payment through a secure payment link. Message me on WhatsApp and we'll set up whatever method works best for you before your first session.

Can I get an invoice or receipt for reimbursement?

Yes. I give you a detailed receipt for each session that you can submit to your private insurance, mutual fund, or workplace wellness benefit, if your coverage allows it. Every insurer and every European country handles this differently, so it's worth checking with your own policy first.

How long does the therapy process take?

There's no fixed number of sessions. The assessment session exists for exactly this: understanding your situation and proposing, honestly, a pace that fits you. You can go session by session, or take the 5-session package if you'd rather have continuity.
